JACQUIE TARR
1957 – Johannesburg Resided in Namibia in 1981
Works in charcoal, ink, watercolour, acryl and oil; subject matters: landscpapes, animals, still-life, abstract & semi abstract
Profile: Started drawing already from a very young age. A trained biologist, (BSc ( Hons ) University of the Witwatersrand and HDE, Pietersmaritzburg University ) but the love for art endured and she is now a fulltime passion since 2002. An environmental artist.
A mainly self-taught artist. Attended many art courses including some through the University of Cape Town. With French illustrator Cècile Alma Filiette, 2003; with Cyril Coetzee, South Africa, 2011; with Maggie Brown, Pembrokeshire, Wales, 2012.
Solo – Exhibitions:
Participated in group exhibitions in Windhoek and Swakopmund. Joint exhibition 1992 with Armin Sander and Heinz Pulon, Die Muschel, Swakopmund. Joint exhibition 2002 with Helena Brandt at Windhoek International School.
